Aw, hail no!

Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 says, "Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May..."and today was evidence of that. Granted, it's the darling buds of late April, but rough winds indeed. When I went to bed last night, I heard the start of some bad weather -- whistling winds and spurts of hard rain. When I woke up this morning, it was a grim scene outside -- gray and nasty. I took Lucy for her morning constitutional only to find that it was not just windy and raining, but also hailing. Lucy just looked at me like, "You've sooooo got to be kidding me." I had an umbrella, but she's never quite learned to stand under it for protection. Shakespeare's sonnet was especially brought to mind becuase it does look like spring outside. I've been meaning to take pictures in the park. The daffodils are blooming, the tulips around the city are gorgeous, the trees are in flower, and even the big trees have cute little green leaves starting to form. The bushes are even starting to fill in, and the grass is a lush green. It was hard to believe it was 45 degrees out this morning.
The sun has come out now, and the sky is a brilliant blue, though it's still cold. It's supposed to be back into the mid-60s tomorrow, so we're headed back in the right direction. Nonetheless, I think I'll wait a bit longer before putting the courduroy pants and winter jackets completely out of sight.
