I don't think that I have posted here before but if I have, I guess that it really doesn't matter because I'm sure that it something of a different nature.
I have very strong feelings about our children's education and the fact that many teachers are not being paid what they should. Four of our close family members are teachers and more are in college to become educators.
I am a 71 year old great grandmother and a retired nurse. When I first got my degree, nurse's pay was so poor that one person, who was not in the nursing profession was shocked when I told him what my starting wage was. He said, "why that's peon wages." I think at that time the bottom line was that it was considered 'woman's work'. Well thank God women have come a long way in the work force and in nursing. I thought at the time how unfair it was considering the fact that we had to know so much and often held life and death in our hands.
You help mold the lives of the children of this country and they are our future. I think there is something wrong with a country that pays their entertainers more than their teachers. Do you have a union? If not I guess you'll just have to pray for change or like your husband says, find another profession.
