A belated blog happy birthday to my husband, who turned 28 years old on December 17. We had fettucini with crab meat for dinner and a German chocolate cake for dessert. I gave him an Ipod shuffle (his last one died when it accidentally landed in the laundry machine with his winter coat) and tickets to the most recent Second City show. To celebrate his birthday, Wes did an overnight shift in the emergency room. For Christmas he did a 6am to 6pm shift. For new years, he did a 10-hour shift. He worked on Thanksgiving Day, too. We know in our house that days are just days, and holidays can be celebrated whenever one chooses, but he seriously got shafted this year, don't you think?
