Lucy turned four years old today -- tax day. I still remember how little she was when I brought her home from the Madison SPCA at eight weeks. She was about the size of my roommate's shoe! For the record, it was Wes who said, when I came yesterday, "We should get a cake for Lucy's birthday." So we did. The dog, it should go without saying, did not get any of the cake (nor did she lick it, as it appears in this photo). She did get the dog bone on top of the wax paper on top of the cake as shown in this top photo. This morning, while Wes and I were both out, she broke into the hall closet and helped herself to the second one. Know what she said when I asked her why she did it? Laura?
