Drinking Problem

Little kids are notorious for drawing out their bedtime routine, trying to delay for as long as possible the inevitability of sleep. One such tactic includes a drink of water, usually asked for after the brushing of teeth, a bedtime story, and even getting tucked.

I think Lucy has started doing the same thing. Every night when Wes and I go to bed, she's either already in her spot for the night (either on her bed when she has one or on her mat on an old chair we have) or I can hear her click-clack around the apartment and then hop on and nestle down for the night. But it seems almost nightly that I hear her, ten or fifteen minutes later, get up and take a long drink. This is like a full minute or more of lapping.

Dehydration or delay tactic?

I think I need a dog. Don't you think every new home should have a dog?

It really is a good practice child -- you get used to being tied to home somewhat, co-parenting, arguing over whose turn it is to take her out to poop... Plus it's really hard to stay mad when you have her doing funny things all the time, and you know your spouse is the only other person who will enjoy it with you.
