For those of you who have not been to our apartment, Wes and I live in a
very open floorplan. There is no door between the main living/dining area and our bedroom, and the walls to the second bedroom do not go to the ceiling (it's a soft loft and this allows some sunlight to reach the room). Consequently, when one person is listening to music or watching television, everyone has to hear it. Our solution? Eighteen feet of headphone cord extensions. Wes likes that you can almost reach the refrigerator without having to take the headphones off.
