Today begins the first day of my 2 weeks of for winter holidays. This is a time of year treasured by school teachers near and wide as a break in the middle of the school year. Since I only get 6 weeks in the summer, it seems that much more exciting -- it's probably equivalent to the amount of free time I had this summer after workshops, conferences, and visitors (not that I didn't enjoy all of those, too). I have quite a list of work to complete during this break, and yet the idea that I am in control of all of it makes it that much more exciting. Of course, check in with me in a week, and see if any of it has been started on.
