Wes has the flu for the second time this winter. He's had a fever, congestion, upper respiratory infection, and fatigue for at least three days. He's on nights and has gone to work every shift(he's never called in sick call ever), then comes home and immediately crashes in the morning. When I left him today, he was already asleep and hadn't eaten breakfast. I hope he wakes up long enough to get something in his stomach.
I have managed to avoid catching anything from him. Indeed, the very last thing I need right now is to have the flu. After getting home from parent conferences last night at 8 PM, I put all the sheets and pillowcases in the wash to eradicate any and all remnant germs from the premises.
Hopefully he'll be on the upswing by Sunday. He's got another shift tonight but not Saturday and doesn't work until 2 PM on Sunday. So if you, too, have managed to escape this pesky flu, remember -- get your rest, tak your vitamins, and -- the widsom of the age -- drink lots of water.
