Wes and I are leaving today for Phoenix, Arizona. The SAEM (Society for Academic Emergency Medicine) conference is there this year, and Wes is presenting. As soon as he found out he was going, he asked me to go with him. I haven't been to a conference with him yet, and we haven't been away together since Oliver was born or at all since our trip to Portland several years ago. He'll have some work going on with the conference, and I have to take some schoolwork with me (though had I been more diligent, I would not have had to), but it's hard to go wrong with a resort and four pools. I can read by the lazy river!
I did check the weather this past weekend just to see how hot it was going to be. It was 97 degrees at around 6am, and the high this weekend is 108. I'm taking a new swimsuit with me for sure, but I'm also definitely taking the heavy-duty sunscreen.
