- I'm thankful for the stacks at Peabody Library. They're very, very old-school library, dirty and dusty. I like to sit in my study carrel (I always go to one in particular), with a window right next to me, and do schoolwork. There's less distraction there than in my pod, which I share with other doctoral students.
- I'm thankful for PDFs. I had to look up an article a few weeks ago on microfiche. Google Scholar is way, way easier.
- I'm thankful for PetSmart, and the lady there who, for a relatively small sum of money, bathed my dog, clipped her nails, and brushed her until there was hardly any fur left for her to shed around my house. Oliver is also thankful, but was very concerned all morning about where Lucy had gone.
- I'm thankful for whoever came up with the frog potty, without which no progress (however small) would have been made in the potty training arena.
- I'm thankful that I was able to easily fix the missing channels from our television so that Wes could watch some of the baseball playoffs. He's been teaching Oliver the calls the umpire does. I'm furthermore thankful that (unless I jinx it) the Rangers will beat the Yankees. Now if only the Giants can do the same with the Phillies. (I don't really like anyone specifically in baseball. I just don't like some teams.)
