I took a quick walk this morning to the CVS down Market, and since I'd missed breakfast at the "Grand Club Lounge," I decided to stop at a coffee shop and get some tea and a muffin or something. After last night's dinner, I certainly didn't need anything more. A pleasant mile or so of walking later, I had gotten the necessary items from CVS and was on my way back to the hotel. I thought about Starbucks, but it just seemed sacrosanct to go there when I'd passed two local coffee shops. So Lion Coffee is was. And can I just say, the Vanilla Chai Tea Latte -- yum. It's like a vanilla milkshake with really nice vanilla bean in it, plus some spices, and so creamy and warm. Perfect for the overcast but not at all cold day we're having. And the french toast muffin -- also yum. This, friends, is why I end up going the same places all the time. I find something amazing and don't want to try anything else!
I'm now back at the hotel making myself finish this conference proposal (with the sounds of a bagpiper who is playing in a park out my window) that needs sent to my advisor so that I'm free the rest of the trip to do as I please. Rest assured, mom, I also have a bottle of water on the desk along with the remainder of my tea.
