Be-cous(in)

Over the winter holidays, the kids and Wes and I spent a few days at my parents' house in Georgia with my younger sister, Laura.  It was good to see my parents, but it was especially nice to visit with Laura since we hadn't seen each other (and she hadn't seen the kids) since this summer.  More importantly, I hadn't seen her in person since I found out she was pregnant.  Yes, let me say that again -- my little sister (who is growing less little by the day) is now 16 plus weeks pregnant with my niece or nephew.  I don't mind saying that when Laura told me she was pregnant, I literally screamed at the top of my lungs. I think the kids thought I was crazy, jumping around the living room.

I have waited a long, long time to get to see my sister pregnant.  And I don't mean the last 16 or so weeks.  I won't share Laura's story here, because it's her story to tell, but I don't think she would mind me saying that it's not a short one.  But happily, her story is now a chapter in a longer tale, one that will, hopefully, result in a baby in late June.
