Fall has fallen

It's getting progressively cooler here every week, and it suddenly occured to me today that fall has come and will soon be replaced by winter. It's cooled off much faster this year than it did last year. I remember riding my bike well into the later months last year. The ground is a bit soft from all the rain we've had. The leaves are turning a bit. It's comfortable out with a jacket on -- not coat weather yet. And for reasons that are unclear to me, I've started singing Christmas carols. I'm not usually one to jump ahead of the holidays. I'm perfectly happy to wait until after Thanksgiving to start Christmas preparations -- cookies, decorations, carols. I have to assume it's the weather playing games with me. Maybe I'm just looking forward to seeing my family. Whatever the reason, it's a beautiful fall!
