A new frontrunner

My sister and I have a special relationship with french toast. We don't just love eating it, we have a ranking system. For years now, the french toast at the Cracker Barrel has been at the top of the rankings. Literally every time I ever go to the Cracker Barrel, I get french toast and hot chocolate. Another honorable mention was French Toast Napoleon at the Cheesecake Factory, available at Sunday brunch. Today, however, a new frontrunner emerged. There's a diner just a few blocks from us called the Eleven City Diner. We'd been there for lunch and dinner, and while it was fine, it wasn't anything that special. When Wes's mother visited, he took her and the baby to breakfast while I stayed home to catch up on some sleep. Both Wes and his mom raved about the food, and I made Wes promise to take me. We went this morning, and I have to say the french toast definitely lived up to their description: challah bread, fresh strawberries and bananas, and shavings of coconut. Oh -- my.
