Thanks giving, Week 38

This week's Thanks giving post is brought to you by the number 2.
  • I'm thankful for my son, who turned 2 years old today.  This time 2 years ago (8:29pm), he'd been in the world for about an hour and was probably being checked into the NICU at Prentice Women's Hospital (where, fortunately, he only stayed for 2 days before being discharged with a tub of Aquaphor).  I'm also thankful for the probably 40 people who came to his birthday party today and to the people at the bakery who baked and iced the cupcakes we fed to them (and for which we handsomely paid, but still...).
  • I'm thankful for second chances, specifically for the baby girl in my belly who will not only be a second child but is also, in her own way, a second chance.
  • I'm thankful for a second to sit down, as my lower back and feet are wicked tired, to use an expression I have no right to use, after a day of cleaning the house and almost two hours of mixing and mingling with guests.
  • And I'm thankful for seconds.  Speaking of which, where are those leftover cupcakes...

What a lovely post. I wish I was there to eat those leftovers! And that we could have been to the party. I was a day late with Oliver's present but it should be there this morning! Much love to him.
