It ain't easy being green

One Chicago must-see that Wes and I did not see last year is the river dyed green fo rSt. Patrick's Day. The joke, of course, is that the river always looks green. Some of you may remember the tradition (and the joke) from The Fugitive. Neither of us saw the green river last year since both of us were occupied with things at work that weekend, but this year we combined the outing with dinner at the Giordano's in the Aon Building to take a peek. Boy, howdy, they weren't kidding when they said green. I think the river was even greener than my coat! I went to school for Saturday School on St. Patrick's Day this year. I saw the floats for the parade lined up on Indiana when I caught the bus to head south. When I rode the bus home, any number of twenty-something drunk people (at 1pm) got on, stumbling even more than usual on a movie bus. Wes worked overnight that night and said they saw their share of people with green hair and wicked hangovers. If you ever get out to Chicago in early March, it certainly is a sight!
