The deed is done
Wes called this afternoon to report that Lucy has returned home from the vet, sleepy but seemingly in good spirits. He says her teeth look better, her nails are shorter, and he's not really sure yet if her breath is normal. He didn't want to get too up close and personal with her mouth as it's evidently very sore. He's off to a work event tonight and is leaving Lucy in her crate for a well-deserved rest.

We've been trying for several weeks to get Zoe's nails clipped. Next step: give her the sedative pills prescribed by the vet on Thursday, wait two hours, and take her back to the vet to try again. I hope this works! I'm shocked at this point when I see a dog just sitting there serenely while his/her nails get clipped.
