Wes and I used to have our "side" of the bed, but since the baby's been born, it's a rotating situation. When the co-sleeper was in, I slept on that side. Usually I'll sleep on the side towards the doorway, unless Wes has to get up early, in which case he likes to sleep next to the alarm clock (if I turn it off instead of him, he often doesn't wake up). We also need to replace the alarm clock, which Wes has had since 8th grade, as it often requires a Q-tip to get the alarm set.
This rotating sides led us to jokingly "assign" the person clock-side the responsibility of initiating a goodnight kiss. Wes recently suggested eventually having two clocks, so we could each have an alarm. I asked him who would be in charge of the kiss.
"We both will," he said. "It'll be so much more romantic."
