Franklin, TN

On our first full day in Tennessee, we spent the morning in Franklin, an historic town south of Nashville. When we first got there, we really thought we'd end up in either Franklin or Brentwood, the newer and more expensive suburb between Franklin and Nashville. That, of course, was before we saw the traffic between the two.

Franklin is an adorable town with a cute downtown, lovely old homes, a big, seemingly new high school, and lots of Civil War history. It's named for Benjamin Franklin. My favorites downtown were the Curious Cupcake (it was too early for a cupcake, but just the right time for hot chocolate) and the churches. We may find ourselves that direction one day, when Wes doesn't work every day during normal office hours, but for now we'll just visit for the Fourth of July Parade, which is supposed to be excellent.
